Mr. Nyirimihigo is a career banker with over 30 years’ experience in project financing. He previously worked with the Central Bank of Burundi and later was Director-General of Rwanda Development Bank and Director General of the African Guarantee Fund in Niger. He is now in private business as a real estate developer and has been a Board member of the Rwanda Investment Group and Cimerwa Group.

He also served as the Chairman of the Board of Ultimate Concept Limited and a Board Member at Cimerwa Group. He is currently a member of the Governing Council of the African Legal Support Facility and the Discipline Committee of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Rwanda.

Board Member

Christian Nkusi Rugeri holds a Master’s degree in business law. He serves as Treasury Counsel in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. Before he joined the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in 2011, he served as a Legal Specialist in the Public Investments and External Finance bureau.

Marie Laetitia Busokeye is the Director of Research, Environmental Planning, and Development at the Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA). She is also Rwanda’s Focal Point for the Convention on Biological Diversity.

Dr. Christian Birame SEKOMO

Dr. Sekomo taught Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Fundamentals of Waste Management and Water Quality Principles and Management, Wastewater Treatment and Disposal. He has also supervised laboratory work and BSc final year projects as well as MSC and Ph.D. thesis. He has undertaken a number of consultancies with the Ministry of Environment and REMA related to waste management (water quality analysis and hazardous chemical waste management). Dr. Sekomo has served as the President of the Academic and Research Staff Organisation of the University of Rwanda.

Dr. SEKOMO also served as FONERWA Board Member from 2018-to date.

Dr. Sekomo is the Director General of National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA). Prior to being appointed the DG, He was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Rwanda in the College of Science and Technology (CST), School of Science, Department of Chemistry.

Rachel KYTE

Prior to joining Fletcher, Kyte served as a special representative of the UN secretary-general and chief executive officer of Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL). She previously was the World Bank Group Vice President and special envoy for climate change, leading the Bank Group’s efforts to shift its operations and campaign for the Paris Agreement.

In her UN role and as CEO of SEforAll, a nonprofit public/private platform created from an initiative of the UN secretary-general, Kyte led efforts to promote and finance clean, affordable energy and low-carbon growth as part of the UN Sustainable Development Goals in the context of the Paris Agreement.

Rachel Kyte is the 14th dean of The Fletcher School at Tufts University. A 2002 graduate of Fletcher’s Global Master of Arts Program (GMAP) and a professor of practice at the school since 2012, Kyte is the first woman to lead the nation’s oldest graduate-only school of international affairs, which attracts students from all corners of the globe and at all stages of their careers.
